It was a beautiful day, although the light winds ended up dying down to about nothing the second half of the race.  We only did the one race.  A reminder is that the next race is two Saturdays from now, March 21.  I hope the participation we had on Feb 7 re-appears.  The 21st was supposed to be the last race of the frostbite series, but depending on the weather and how many races we can get in that day, we may consider adding one (we did not race the first race due to weather on Jan 24) after the WORK DAY the following Saturday (28th).

Our next event is a Burn It. OSYC will provide a hot grill, and two sides.

Please bring your choice of protein to throw on the grill plus a side dish or dessert to share.

We are trying out “SignUpGenius” to make sign up, tracking and reminders easy for everyone.  You should have received a link via email so that you can RSVP up for your family (adults and children).  Please give it a try, because if it works out it’s going to make life much easier for our event organizers.

The club will celebrate the new year on “island time”.  Our New Year’s Eve Party will be Wednesday December 31st starting around 6 pm with the ball dropping at 9:00 pm. Please bring a heavy hors d’oeuvre to share.

The OSYC annual Christmas Party is scheduled for the evening of December 6, 2014.  Save the date!  It’s sure to be good time.

Our next event, Fall Membership meeting, is scheduled for Saturday November 15th. The menu for the evening not yet nailed down. Dinner time we hope between 6:00 pm and 6:30 pm. As always, any appetizer or dessert you bring along will be loved and well cared for. Save the date on your schedule and hope to see each and every member there!

2014 Spring Series Results (updated June 29)

Saturday July 5th is Kids Day. If you have the excuse of having children or are a child at heart you should be there. Upon your arrival at high noon be fueled up for water sports such as tubing, kayaking, canoeing, swimming, castle building and land games like water balloon blasting, bat mitten, ping pong, hula hooping and who knows what else when a child is about. Around 3 pm the club will serve up hot dogs, with trimmings, baked beans, chips, watermelon, cookies, cake, punch and water. Please RSVP with a count of all “kids”.
