We had several cruisers who were on salt water for the first time. If there are some novices at OSYC that would like to go next year, we could have a seminar for first time BEER Cruisers. Its a good first cruise because if you have problems there is someone to help. Anchors dragging is a good example. There is a bunch of folks who do not hesitate to lend a hand. On one cruise, someone blew out a sail. Another boat had a spare and loaned it too him. Another time a rudder broke off and someone brought out an epoxy repair kit and it was ready to go the next morning. This is just a few examples.
