November 1, 2010 Dear OSYC Members It’s that time of year again – time for our annual fall membership meeting and board election on Saturday November 13. The first order of business is election of officers. The Nominations Committee has reported in and presented us with the following slate of nominations for officers and board for 2011. Commodore: Ken Griffin Vice-Commodore: Calvin Smith Secretary/Treasurer: Jay Harrell Past Commodore: Jimmy Harrell Trustees Jeff Morrow Bill Lewis Ronnie Young Tom Poth Additional or alternative nominations may be submitted to the club secretary and any nominations received before the meeting will be presented by the secretary along with the Committee slate above. In keeping with Roberts Rules, nominations can also be made from the floor as well. As always, a quorum will be required to transact club business and if you are unable to attend in person, please provide a written proxy for your vote to another member that you trust to represent your interests at the meeting. You should give the voting member a signed copy of your proxy and also notify the secretary (email, fax, or phone) that you have assigned your proxy. A sample proxy form follows. As usual, there will be a club-provided dinner before the meeting, starting at about 6pm, with happy hour beforehand. Please bring an appetizer or desert to share.
